Privacy Policy
Last updated March 26, 2026
StickMeta is built for hockey players, not advertisers. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the site, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it any time.
What we collect
- Account data: if you create an account, we store your email address and username. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google but never your Google password.
- Activity data: votes you cast, comments you leave, and sticks you suggest. This is tied to your account so we can enforce the one-vote-per-stick rule and display community scores accurately.
- Usage data: anonymous page views and basic analytics via Vercel Analytics. No personal identifiers are attached to this data.
- Cookies: we use a session cookie to keep you logged in. Vercel Analytics may set a cookie for analytics purposes. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
How we use it
- To create and manage your account
- To display community vote scores and rankings
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Resend
- To understand how the site is being used so we can improve it
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell it, trade it, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
Third-party services
StickMeta uses a small number of trusted services to operate:
- Supabase: our database and authentication provider. Your account data is stored in Supabase on servers in Canada/US.
- Resend: used to send transactional emails. Your email address is passed to Resend only when sending you a message.
- Google OAuth: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that authentication. We only receive your name and email.
- Vercel Analytics: anonymous, privacy-friendly page view analytics. No personal data is collected.
Affiliate links
StickMeta earns a small commission when you click a retailer link and make a purchase. Clicking those links may allow the retailer to set their own cookies. We have no control over third-party retailer data practices.
Your rights
You can request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To delete your account and associated data, or to make any privacy request, contact us here. We will respond within 30 days.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
